Market & risk
Why data center safety matters now
Data center construction is growing faster than almost any other building type — and electrical work is one of the deadliest hazards on a construction site.
Annualized U.S. data center construction spending, first time over $50B (April 2026)
U.S. Census Bureau via Bloomberg LawShare of U.S. electricity data centers could use by 2028, up from 4.4% in 2023
Lawrence Berkeley National Lab / DOEConstruction workers killed by contact with electricity, 2011–2024
BLS data via ESFIAcross 100 Department of Defense awards mentioning data centers since FY2020
USAspending.gov, Oct 21, 2026What poor performance costs, and how AAAT3 prevents it
Missed schedules, rework and outages trace back to the same root causes: weak planning, poor communication and procedures that aren’t followed. Our safety officers, quality managers and project controls staff are on site to stop those failures before they hit your schedule, budget or uptime.
Large data center capacity slated for 2026 that is likely to be delayed past year-end
AAAT3 fix: Preconstruction schedules, safety and QC plans built before mobilization, so work starts ready and stays on track.
Currence via Network World, Jul 2026Data center capacity expected in 2025 that missed its projected completion date
AAAT3 fix: Superintendents and project controls that track every milestone through energization, commissioning and turnover.
Currence via Network World, Jul 2026Operators whose last major outage cost over $100,000, and 1 in 5 topped $1 million. Failure to follow procedures is the top driver of human-error outages
AAAT3 fix: NFPA 70E electrical safety, written procedures and field verification so crews follow the plan every time.
Uptime Institute Annual Outage Analysis 2026Share of U.S. construction rework caused by miscommunication and poor project data, costing about $31.3B a year
AAAT3 fix: USACE CQM quality control: daily reports, inspections and documented turnover that keep every trade on the same page.

FAQ
Data center services questions
What data center services does AAAT3 provide?
AAAT3 supports every phase of a data center project. Preconstruction: site due diligence, power readiness, schedules, safety plans, QC plans and staffing plans. Construction: site safety officers, NFPA 70E electrical safety, lockout/tagout audits, hot work and fire watch, confined space and excavation plans, quality control and superintendents. Post-construction: commissioning support, punch list, turnover and closeout, operations safety, expansions and decommissioning.
Do you support work inside live (energized) data centers?
Yes. We plan energized and near-energized work under NFPA 70E, verify lockout/tagout under 29 CFR 1910.147, and coordinate permits with the facility owner so critical loads stay up.
