Protecting Live Systems During Construction

Dust, vibration, water and heat can trip IT gear even when nobody touches it. AAAT3 plans and enforces the controls that keep construction from reaching running racks, from dust barriers to leak protection and fire system impairments.

  • Dust & debris barriers
  • Vibration control
  • Water & leak protection
  • Fire system impairments
  • Air quality monitoring

What’s included

Keep construction out of the white space

Every hazard that can travel from the work area to live gear gets a control and a check.

01

Dust and debris

Construction dust clogs filters and can set off smoke detection.

  • Barrier walls and sealed openings
  • Negative air and HEPA units
  • Sticky mats and clean zones
  • Particle monitoring near live gear
02

Vibration and drilling

Coring and drilling near live racks can shake gear and trip systems.

  • Drilling and coring windows
  • Vibration limits and monitoring
  • Scanning before coring
  • Hold points near sensitive gear
03

Water, heat and fire systems

Leaks, hot work and fire system work all threaten live rooms.

  • Leak protection and drip trays
  • Hot work rules near live rooms
  • Fire alarm and suppression impairments
  • Smoke detector covers and removal

Project management and consulting

Project management and consulting for live site protection

AAAT3 can plan protection controls, enforce them on site or audit contractors working near live systems.

Live site protection planning

Controls for dust, vibration, water and fire written into the project plan.

Best for: Expansions and retrofits in live facilities

Protection control oversight

Daily checks that barriers, monitors and rules are in place.

Best for: Construction next to running data halls

Fire system impairment management

Detector covers, impairments and restorations planned and tracked.

Best for: Work that could trigger fire systems

Air and particle monitoring

Monitoring plans and readings near live equipment.

Best for: Dusty work near sensitive gear

Coring and drilling control

Scanning, windows and hold points for drilling near live systems.

Best for: Penetrations in live buildings

Event investigation

Root cause after a dust, leak or trip event.

Best for: Any site after an event

How it works

From risk review to clean handover

Assess

Live systems near the work.

Plan

Controls for each hazard.

Install

Barriers, monitors and covers.

Check

Daily inspections and readings.

Adjust

Fix gaps as work moves.

Restore

Remove controls and clean up.

Rule of thumb: assume the dust, water and vibration will travel. Control them at the source and check where they could land.

FAQ

Common questions

Can construction dust harm IT equipment?

Yes. Dust can clog filters, raise temperatures and set off smoke detection. Barriers, negative air and clean zones keep it out.

How do you control vibration?

We set drilling and coring windows, scan before coring, and monitor vibration near sensitive equipment.

What about smoke detectors near the work?

Detectors may need covers or impairments during dusty work. We plan and track each one and make sure they are restored.

Can AAAT3 check controls every shift?

Yes. We inspect barriers, monitors and rules every shift and report to the facility team.

Do you work with the facility operations team?

Yes. We plan controls with operations and keep them informed throughout the work.
